Open Skyz formed in Los Angeles around 2015, with Ethan Thompson on vocals, Jason Harris on guitar, Ryan Miller on bass, and Chris Davis on drums. They started playing open mics and local clubs as an unsigned band before getting picked up by Blue Note Records in 2017.
Their debut album 'Ascension' came out in 2018, and its single 'None Of It Matters' did well on alternative rock charts. The song deals with the fleeting nature of life. They put out another album called 'Clarity' in 2020.
