Background notes

Archive material and source history

Oprehay formed in Los Angeles in 1996, led by singer Anya Petrova and guitarist Ethan Knight. They released their debut album 'Celestial Echoes' in 1998, which brought them wider attention. The band included bassist Luke Carter and drummer Sophia Grey.

Their song 'Marissa' became their most recognizable track, a ballad that connected with listeners. They put out two more albums, 'Shadows of the Heart' in 2001 and 'The Veil of Dreams' in 2004.

Petrova and Knight's marriage ended, and the band broke up in the early 2000s. Their music has found listeners again in recent years.
