Archive material and source history

Opus Dei was an Italian band that started in the mid-1970s, with Mina Mazzini on vocals, Oscar Prudente on keyboards, and Dario Farina on bass. They put out their first album, 'Dimmi di Si,' in 1977. The next year, they released 'A Porta,' which included the title track and songs like 'A Resposta' and 'Um Só Caminho.'

Their music mixed progressive rock with more accessible melodies, and they toured around Europe. Some of their lyrics and Mazzini's style sparked debates, and the band's name being the same as a Catholic organization sometimes drew criticism.

They kept recording through the 1980s, with albums such as 'Aspettando che il sole tramonti,' 'Sei un tesoro,' and 'Sotto l'acqua.' Other members like Lucio Fabbri on guitar and Roberto Vecchi on drums joined over time. By 1990, they had released 'Messa di requiem.'
