Heavenly Crossroads

Almost at the end of my travels in this corner of paradise

Of oases and green banks

I can feel in these mirages the temptations of a place

Where I could finish my days, giving thanks

Careless in this life

Without picking out a thread

I live an unreal dream

In the Kingdom without Dread

No longer must I suffer, no longer must I choose

Everything's forgotten in the billows of the clouds!

Cut off from all the World, and with nothing left to loose

I will rest my soul at last; the silence will be loud

But there's a heavy price to pay, if you're seeming to be dead

I could go away for ever

I could give no more offence

But I want to be alive

To live without pretence

I'll live life with all it's cares

I'll pick out at last a thread

I'll live at last my dreams

In a world that's what it seems
