They released several albums in the 1960s and 1970s, including 'Balanço Baianado' in 1963, 'Forró de Cachoeira' in 1965, and 'Na Base da Chinela' in 1974. Their music drew from traditional Northeastern Brazilian styles.
At times their approach drew criticism from more conservative listeners, and they had some legal disputes over copyright matters. Their recordings, particularly 'Balanço Baianado', have remained familiar in Brazilian popular music.
