Os Berbigão is a forró band from Fortaleza in northeastern Brazil. They formed in the early 2000s around vocalist and accordionist Bete Balanço, taking their name from a local shellfish. Their 2005 debut album 'Tanto Tempo' gave them a national hit with the title track.
While some traditionalists criticized their approach to forró, the band kept playing their version of it. They released other albums like 'Forró do Berbigão' and 'Deixa Falar' with a lineup that included keyboardist Fábio Carneirinho and bassist Marcos Améri alongside Balanço.
