Os Brilhantes formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1960s, with Luiz Carlos, Renato Corrêa, and Wilson Simonal among the founding members. They drew from bossa nova and samba traditions, influenced by figures like João Gilberto and Antônio Carlos Jobim.
Their song "Que Amor É Esse" from 1973 became particularly well-known. The band recorded several albums through the 1970s, including "Sonho Meu" in 1974 and "Trem da Vida" in 1977.
Over time, the lineup included other musicians such as Marcos Valle on keyboards. They continued performing and recording into the 1980s with releases like "Deixa Acontecer" in 1980.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
