Os Caminheiros de Jesus formed in São Paulo during the 1970s, a group of young musicians who wanted to play Christian music. The original lineup included Beto Simas on lead vocals and guitar, Dunga on electric guitar, Zezé on acoustic guitar, Edinho on bass, and Luiz Arcanjo on drums.
They released their debut album 'Caminhando na Fé' in 1977. The single 'Amor Fiel' became particularly well-known, reaching listeners beyond strictly religious circles. Their sound mixed Brazilian rhythms with rock elements.
Some religious groups initially resisted their contemporary approach to Christian music, but the band continued playing. Their music found an audience that appreciated both the message and the musical style.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
