Os Canibais formed in Salvador, Bahia, with João Rebouças on vocals and guitar, Walter Queiroz on lead guitar, Dadi on bass, and Moa do Katendê on drums. Their debut album came out in 1984, featuring the song "A Nossa História." They followed it with records like "Cabeça de Touro" in 1985 and "O Passo do Gigante" in 1987.
