Os Caninos were a Brazilian funk group from São Paulo. Their 2006 debut album "Funk do Mineiro (Chupa, o chupa-chupa)" gave them their biggest hit, a track that became something of an anthem in certain circles. They followed it with albums like "Só Funk De Verdade" in 2010 and "De Volta ao Baile" in 2013.
The group's lead vocalist and songwriter was Bruno Ribeiro, who performed as MC Daleste. Anderson Almeida, known as MC Primo, handled secondary vocals, while Claudiney Batista, DJ Loira, provided the beats.
Daleste's murder in 2013, at what was described as the height of his career, marked a tragic turn for the group. Beyond "Funk do Mineiro," songs like "Sem Sexo" represent their straightforward, energetic approach to the genre.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
