Os Garanhões Selvagens formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1980, with Bruno 'Bru' Custódio on vocals and guitar, Paulo 'Paulão' Moreira on bass, and Eduardo 'Dudu' Tavares on drums. They started playing local gigs around the city, trying to find their footing in the Brazilian rock scene.
Their debut album 'Rumo ao Infinito' came out in 1984 and included 'Tô Aqui Mais Uma Vez,' which became a hit with younger listeners. The song's straightforward rock arrangement and direct lyrics connected with people across Brazil.
After that first album, they kept recording through the late 80s and 90s, putting out records like 'Marcas da Vida' in 1987 and 'O Grande Salto' in 1991. Their sound sometimes touched on blues and harder rock, but stayed rooted in that basic three-piece setup. They played a show in São Paulo in 2000 that drew some complaints about their stage show, but they kept performing.
