Os Intocáveis formed in 1983 in Rio de Janeiro, started by Sérgio Pedro, Luiz Carlos, and Cláudio Zoli. They worked with samba and soul, and their first album came out in 1987. That record was called 'Não Provoca,' which is also the name of one of their songs.
Their music sometimes dealt with social issues, which got them attention beyond just the charts. They kept recording for years, putting out studio albums and live records that mixed Brazilian rhythms with pop and funk touches. Another track people know is 'Não Balança.'
They had a song with Rita Seidi called 'Quem Tu És,' and another one titled 'Pra Ti Senhor.' The group's lyrics could be direct, and that straightforwardness became part of how people heard them. They didn't stick to one style, but their sound always had that Rio foundation.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
