Os Irmãos Em Cristo formed in 1996 when four brothers from Palhoça, Santa Catarina, Moisés, Maikon, Mateus, and Marcelo Júnior, started playing music together. They began performing at local churches and small gatherings, working with limited resources and no formal training. Their song "Ressurreição de Lázaro" became particularly well-known.
In 2002, they released their debut album "O Céu É o Nosso Lar," which brought them wider attention. Some listeners in the Christian community questioned their approach, as they mixed gospel with pop and rock elements. They kept recording, putting out albums like "Livre Pra Adorar" in 2004 and "Milagres" in 2007.
Mateus Júnior left the group in 2014, and their cousin Samuel Júnior joined. Other songs people remember include "Última Morada" and "Minha conversão."
