Os Mimosos were a Brazilian sertanejo trio formed in 1972 by three brothers from Minas Gerais: José dos Reis, João dos Reis, and Antônio dos Reis. They started playing local festivals, and in 1975 their song 'Estou Arrependido' became a national hit. That track, along with others like 'Sinfonia' and 'Vem Ficar Comigo,' helped establish their sound.
José dos Reis handled lead vocals and most of the songwriting, João played guitar, and Antônio added vocal harmonies. Their lyrics sometimes touched on social issues, which drew criticism from conservative circles at the time. They also faced some legal disputes over copyright.
The group kept recording for decades, putting out more than 40 studio albums. They played to packed houses well into the 2000s. In 2013 they released what turned out to be their final album, 'Meu Último Desejo.'
