Os Químicos formed in São Paulo in the early 1980s with Márcio Mello on vocals, Fernando Almeida on guitar, Carlos Augusto Camillo on bass, and Paulo Ricardo on drums. They played hard rock and released four albums between 1985 and 1998, including their self-titled debut and the 1991 record 'Força Militar'.
Their song 'Força Militar' became particularly well-known, though their lyrics sometimes addressed political topics that drew criticism. Beyond that track, they had others like 'Um Caso De Amor' and 'Do Chão Ao Teto' in their catalog.
The band's lineup stayed mostly consistent, with Mello's vocals and Almeida's guitar work defining their sound. They were part of the Brazilian rock scene of that period and influenced some younger musicians who came after them.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
