Os Rolhas formed in 1997 as a Brazilian pop-rock band with three university students: Marcelo Camelo on vocals and guitar, Rodrigo Amarante on bass, and Rodrigo Barba on drums. Their debut album 'Rolex de Ouro' came out in 1999 and included the song 'Mariazinha,' which became a radio hit. The track's straightforward lyrics about unrequited love connected with listeners at the time.
They put out two more albums, 'Jovens Tardes de Sol' in 2001 and a self-titled record in 2006, before disbanding in 2008. Another song, 'O Vereador,' also appears among their better-known work.
