Os Templários formed in São Paulo in 1989 with Hamilton "Nizo" Vaz on bass and vocals, Marcos "Marquinhos" da Silva on lead guitar, Guilherme "Billy" Tavares on rhythm guitar, and Ricardo "Cabeca" Marchese on drums. Their 1994 debut album "Vestibular" connected with Brazilian youth through its title track, which spoke to the pressures of college entrance exams.
The band kept recording through the late 1990s and early 2000s, putting out albums like "Trono de Sangue" in 1999 and "O Último Julgamento" in 2002.
Nizo's voice became the most recognizable element of their sound, while Marquinhos handled the guitar leads. They released "Invencível" in 2006, continuing to blend heavy metal with pop hooks that had worked for them since their debut.
