A Portuguese band that formed in 1996 and kept making records their own way.
For a good sense of them, try 'Over Drive' or 'Chutado'. They're not flashy, just steady and a little heavy.
They formed in Portugal in 1996 and put out their first album 'Não Quero Morquer' in 1998. Songs like 'Don't Be Unkind' and 'Oh, Babe' have a directness that connected with listeners, even when the darker lyrics drew some criticism. They worked with artists like Luís Represas and Rita Redshoes, but mostly just kept going their own way.
Pedro Albuquerque, Miguel Araújo, and Vasco Pinto started the band. They released albums every few years, from 'Pára de Sonhar' in 2000 to 'O Fim' in 2008, with lineup changes along the way. Past members included Luís Severo on keyboards and Rui Faria on drums.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
