Osian was a short-lived Irish folk group formed in 2000 by Andrea, Caroline, and Sharon Corr, who had previously been part of The Corrs. They were joined by guitarist Keith Duffy. The band took its name from the Ossianic cycle of Irish legends. They released two albums, 'Osian' in 2000 and 'Beyond the Sky' in 2001, before quietly fading from the scene.
Their music leaned into Celtic folk with layered harmonies and gentle arrangements. Songs like 'By the Tide' and 'Moons of Saturn' have a quiet, drifting quality that fits their name. There isn't much else to say about them, they made a couple of records and then stopped.
In 2015, Osian objected to the use of 'By the Tide' in a pharmaceutical commercial, arguing it misused the song's tone. That was one of the last times they made news. Their catalog is small, and they never really built a career separate from The Corrs' shadow.
