Osiel Novais is a Brazilian singer and composer from Salvador, Bahia. He grew up around samba, pagode, and funk, and sang in a church choir as a kid. In 2011, he put out his first album, which was self-titled.

His song 'Pode a Terra Parar' came out in 2016 and got a lot of attention. It became a hit in Brazil, though some people later said it sounded too much like another artist's work. That led to a plagiarism case that ended with an out-of-court settlement.

Novais has also written other songs like 'A História de Davi' and 'A Hora É Agora'. Outside of music, he's been involved with LGBTQ+ rights and environmental causes.
