Archive material and source history
Osvaldo Oliveira came from Conceição do Coité in Bahia, where he sang in local choirs and church services. He worked with producer Rick Bonadio in the late 1990s, and their song 'Telefone do Céu' became his breakout hit. That track, along with songs like 'Água de Serrinha' and 'Maria do Anga', gave him a national audience.
His album 'Anjo Azul' followed, and he kept recording through the 2000s. In 2009 he was in a serious car accident that paused his career for a couple of years. He returned in 2011 with the album 'Além do Horizonte'.
