Overchange

Overchange was a Brazilian progressive rock band that formed in São Paulo in the late 1970s. They were led by keyboardist Marcio Resende, and their sound mixed classical elements with the complex rhythms typical of progressive rock. Their debut album came out in 1982, simply titled 'Overchange'.

That first album included 'Alvorada,' a long, intricate track that became their best-known song. It helped establish them in Brazil's rock scene during the early 1980s. They followed it with other albums like 'Base,' 'Disco Voador,' and 'Retratos' over the next several years.

Their music sometimes drew criticism for being too experimental or for lyrical content that rubbed some listeners the wrong way. There were also occasional claims about their work, which the band disputed. They kept making music through it, sticking to their particular style of layered, ambitious rock.
