Overground formed in 1997 with Clemens Rehbein on vocals, Benjamin Kahl on guitar, Sebastian Huhn on bass, and David Mathiszik on drums. They worked through some early skepticism about their mix of punk, indie, and electronic sounds, building a following by touring steadily.
In 2003, their single "Aus uns vorbei" became a hit. That track, along with others like "Hass Mich," defined their early 2000s output.
After Mathiszik left in 2007, Till Seiler joined on drums. The band kept recording, putting out albums like "Home.Land" in 2009 and "Traveler" in 2013. They've released eight studio albums in total.
