P-115 formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1995 with Ricardo Felisbino on vocals, Paulo Mourão on guitar, Paulo André on bass, and André Fernandes on drums. Their name comes from the distance between Earth and the Sun in centimeters. They released their debut album 'Parado no Ar' that same year.
In 2001, guitarist Paulo Mourão died in a motorcycle accident. The band continued, releasing the self-titled 'P-115' album in 2003 as a tribute to him, with Fábio Almeida joining on guitar. Their 1999 album 'Dentro da Casa' included their signature song 'Se o Mundo Acabasse Hoje,' which became widely known in Brazil.
Other songs like 'Eu Nasci Pra Ser Livre,' 'A Dúvida Mata!,' and 'Meros Mortais (Corona)' explored themes of freedom, doubt, and social commentary. They released several more albums including 'Mil Anos Luz' in 2008 and 'Estação Lunar' in 2016, with Marcelo Pacheco contributing on keyboards and percussion.
