Pã

Pã formed in São Paulo in 1995 around brothers Fábio and Fernando Del Lama and their friend Clovis Pereira. They started putting out albums a few years later, with their self-titled debut arriving in 1998. The band's sound pulled from rock and jazz, but it was always grounded in a certain Brazilian sensibility, even when the arrangements got dense.

Their 2003 album 'Aqui Não É Aqui' became a particular flashpoint. The record, which shares its name with one of their top-streamed songs, featured surreal lyrics that some listeners found provocative. Tracks like 'Paralisia do Sono' and 'Apolo' from their catalog show the band's tendency to explore introspective themes, often circling ideas of love and existential uncertainty.

The lineup shifted over time, with musicians like Márcio Lugon on guitar and later Jean Dolabella on drums joining the core trio. They kept recording through the 2000s, putting out 'Nação Zumbi' in 2005 and 'Pangeia' in 2009. Their music never aimed for broad commercial appeal, which helped them maintain a specific kind of credibility within Brazil's alternative circles.
