Pablo Alves is a Brazilian musician who started performing in a local bodega, or convenience store, in his hometown of Extrema. His song "Dono da Budegaa" became particularly well-known, drawing from those early experiences. He formed a band with other musicians, including guitarist Léo Reis, bassist Marco Aurélio, drummer Edson Gomes, and backing vocalist Gisele Nascimento.
His music often addressed social themes, which sometimes led to criticism. He released albums like "Dono da Budega" in 1987, "Retrato do Brasil" in 1995, "Som da Liberdade" in 2005, and "Resistência" in 2015. Other songs include "Receba" and "Não Acabou."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
