Pablo Feliu was born in Valparaíso, Chile in 1964. His father was a folk musician, and Feliu grew up with Chilean folk music, tango, and the poetry of Neruda and Hikmet as early influences.
In the early 1980s, he joined the Chilean band Los Jaivas as a keyboardist and vocalist. The band's 1981 album "Alturas de Machu Picchu" fused Andean folk with jazz and rock, becoming an important work in Latin American music.
Feliu began his solo career in 1990, releasing his self-titled debut album the following year. That album included "Corazón Envenenado," a ballad about love and betrayal that became one of his most recognized songs. Other tracks like "Mata Bebé" and "Déjame Solo" also appear among his top songs.
He also faced public struggles with substance abuse and depression alongside his musical work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
