Editor's note

Pablo Montero, the telenovela singer from Torreón

A Mexican singer and actor whose music took off with the 2002 telenovela theme "Gata Salvaje."

For a quick sense of him, try "No Soy de Piedra" or "Dicen por ahí." They're both pretty solid examples of what he does.

He's one of those voices you hear on a telenovela and it sticks. The song "Gata Salvaje" gave him a real foothold in 2002, and tracks like "No Soy de Piedra" and "Dicen por ahí" kept him on the radio. His sound is straightforward Mexican pop, the kind that fits right into a TV drama or a weekend dance.

He started in local shows and telenovelas in the early 1990s. The 2002 telenovela theme "Gata Salvaje" pushed his music forward, and he's put out albums from "Que Me Den Mi Lugar" in 1995 to "Desvelado" in 2017.
