Pacewon, born Donald Pullen Jr., came up in Queens, New York during the 1990s hip-hop scene. He first gained attention working with the underground group Outsidaz on their 1996 album "Free Finga." His solo debut came in 1998 with "The Pacewon Effect," which included the track "Any Champion."
He's put out several albums over time, including "Thought for Food" in 2008 and "The Messenger" in 2018. Other songs in his catalog include "I Declare War" and "It's Yours." Pacewon has worked with various collaborators like Mr. Green and DJ Spinbad.
In 2003, Pacewon served prison time for firearm possession, which interrupted his music career for several years. He returned to recording after his release, continuing to make music into the late 2010s.
