Packwend

Packwend formed in São Paulo in 1985 with Mauro Henrique on vocals and guitar, Marcelo Mancini on guitar, Vinicius Sant'Anna on bass, and Leandro Gouveia on drums. They spent years playing live shows around the city, building a following through their energetic performances before getting much attention from labels.

Their debut album came out in 1994, anchored by the song "Você Lá E Eu Aqui," a ballad about distance that became their breakthrough track. The record brought them wider recognition in Brazil. They followed it with albums like "Secos e Molhados" and "Cachorro Grande," which incorporated more Brazilian rhythms into their rock foundation.

Henrique and Mancini remained the consistent core through various lineup changes over time. The band faced some criticism from conservative groups about their lyrics, and some listeners found their later work too polished compared to their earlier sound. They kept recording and playing shows into the 2000s.
