Paint By Numbers formed in 2009 with Mark Bowe on vocals and guitar, Jon Deiley on drums, Robbie Arnett on guitar and vocals, and Matt DeMerritt on bass. They put out an EP in 2010 and followed it with albums like 2012's 'The Moment Is Now' and 2014's 'Crash Course'.
Their song 'Constellations' got some attention, and they also had tracks like 'Decorate Your Pavement' and 'Seventh Story' in their catalog. In 2012, they dealt with a legal issue over the band name, which they worked through.
Later records included 'Fluorescent Youth' in 2017 and 'That Was a Dream' in 2021. Their music moved between indie rock and some electronic touches, but mostly kept a melodic, guitar-based feel.
