Paisaje Sónico

Paisaje Sónico formed in Mexico City in the early 2000s, started by Guillermo Briseño and Rafael López. Their name translates to "Sonic Landscape," which fits the atmospheric sound they developed, mixing alternative rock with electronic textures and some Mexican folk elements. Their debut album, "Música para Submarinos," came out in 2007 and helped them find an audience beyond the underground scene.

Songs like "Liquidámbar" and "Shows de Realidad" show their style, layered, moody tracks that avoid straightforward pop structures. They kept releasing albums roughly every few years, including "Paisajes Imaginarios" in 2010 and "Claroscuro" in 2013. The lineup grew to include Héctor del Valle on drums, Patricia Araico on keyboards and vocals, and Rodrigo Baills on guitar.

Their music sometimes drew criticism for being too experimental or difficult to access, but they maintained a dedicated following. They didn't chase radio play or commercial formulas, instead building a catalog that feels cohesive and intentional. Later albums like "Silencio" and "El Jardín de las Delicias" continued in that vein, leaning into spacious arrangements and reflective lyrics.
