A band built on friendship and raw live energy, from their Mercury-nominated debut to their final album.
For their early energy, try 'Step Up For The Cool Cats.' 'Rattlesnake Highway' shows they kept that scrappy feel right to the end.
They captured a certain early-2010s London garage-rock spirit that felt urgent and unpolished. Songs like 'Last Of The Summer Wine' from their debut album '180' have that rough, immediate quality. Their live shows were known for a communal feel, which carried through even on later tracks like 'Rattlesnake Highway'.
They formed in London in 2011 as friends first, then bandmates. After bassist Peter Mayhew left in 2015, they continued as a trio and released their last album 'Retreat!' in 2018.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
