Palta & The Mood formed in 2018 when vocalist Natalia 'Palta' Mellado and guitarist Sebastián 'Seba' Soto started working together. They put out a debut EP called 'Fuego' that year, which got some attention in Chile. The band's lineup includes Mellado on vocals, Soto on guitar, Ignacio 'Nacho' Soto on bass, and Nicolás 'Nico' Soto on drums.
Their 2020 single 'Lose Your Temper' became their breakout track, reaching listeners beyond Chile. They followed it with songs like 'Lightning' and 'Dancin' Hippo.' In 2021 they released a debut album titled 'Palta,' and an EP called 'Lo Que No Se Dice' came out in 2022.
Some critics have taken issue with their lyrics, but the band has kept making music. Their sound mixes rock and pop with Latin rhythms, and they play live shows that highlight Mellado's vocals and the group's tight playing.
