Paralex formed in Brooklyn in the late 1990s around vocalist and guitarist Alex Garland, lead guitarist Max Carter, bassist Ethan James, and drummer Jake Reed. Their debut album 'Echoes of the Cosmos' came out in 2002, followed by 'Binary Stars' in 2006.
They released 'Dogfight' in 2010, which included the title track and brought them more attention. Later albums included 'Interstellar' in 2014 and 'Quantum' in 2019. Another song of theirs is 'Lionheart'.
Their music has been described as alternative rock with elements of post-punk and ambient electronica. Some critics have found their approach too experimental, but they've maintained their direction without compromising to mainstream expectations.
