Parallèles formed in São Paulo in 1998 with Adriano Cintra on guitar and vocals, Marcelo Camelo on bass, and Rodrigo Tavares on drums. Their first album, Aonde Quer Que Eu Vá, came out in 2000. They put out Domingo in 2003 and Vamo Acertar As Contas in 2005.

In 2007 they released Ao Meu Alcance, which included the song of the same name. Marcelo Camelo left the band in 2005. They kept going as a duo and put out Melancolia e Capoeira in 2009.
