Paranoia formed in Fortaleza, Brazil in 1982. The band included vocalist Herbert Vianna, guitarist Paulinho Moska, and bassist João Barone.
Their song "Castelo de Areia" became well-known in Brazilian music. It appeared on their 1984 debut album, which was simply titled "Paranoia."
In 1983, Herbert Vianna was injured in a swimming accident that left him paralyzed. He continued to write and perform with the band afterward.
Paranoia released an album called "Nação Zumbi" in 1989.
