Tombstone

The sun is shining I make my way home but the only thing

I feel inside is a numbing cold I was left alone an empty soul

I open the door and I step inside I turn on the lights and see your picture on the wall

it reminds me of a soul I used to know and

I tried to kill the pain I yore my heart out and threw it away

I screamed and called your name I fell on my knees and cursed the day you were taken away from me

it's eating me up. I'm hurting. I can't breathe.

I wanna lay down by your side in the cemetery where your tombstone lies and die

I turn off the lights and I go to sleep but I'm afraid to dream 'cause in those dreams you're next to me

sleeping peacefully breathing calmly I wake up every day in the middle of the night my sheets are next

I scream out loud and hold down my head but the dream won't go away and

You were the life in me

Without you I'm just an empty shell in this world

I'll take one last breathe before I lay down on my head next to yours and die
