Patrick Horla formed in São Paulo in 1996 with Rodrigo Amarante on vocals and guitar, Thiago França on bass, and Fabio Sampaio on drums. They released their debut album 'Azul da Prússia' in 2002, named after the song that became their most recognizable track. That album established their sound with its melancholic melodies and introspective lyrics.
Their songs like 'O Bandido da Lupa Vermelha' and 'Mania de Maníaco' continued in this vein, creating a small but dedicated following. They put out two more albums, 'Vozes da Floresta' in 2006 and 'O Vento Levou' in 2010, before apparently stopping regular activity. Their music never aimed for mainstream appeal, staying instead with the atmospheric, somewhat somber style they developed early on.
