Paul Daraiche was born in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec in 1939. He learned guitar and accordion early on, and by the 1960s was writing his own songs during that decade's folk revival.
His 1964 debut album 'Les Chansons de Paul Daraiche' included 'Juliana,' a ballad about lost love that became a national hit in Canada. Other songs from that period include 'Laisse moi faire comme je veux' and 'Quand revient le printemps.'
He kept recording through the 1970s and 1980s, with albums like 'Les Yeux noirs' in 1970 and 'Le Testament' in 1981. His 1995 release was called 'Le Retour.'
