Paul Dean is a hard rock and heavy metal band named after its guitarist. They formed in the late 1990s with a lineup that included vocalist James "J.J." Jackson, bassist Mark "The Beast" Jenkins, and drummer Ron "Ronin" Stevens. The group developed a following known as "The Deanheads" while working in the heavy metal scene of that period.
Their song "Sword and Stone" became a notable track for the band. Other songs in their catalog include "Action," "Black Sheep," "Dirty Fingers," and "Doctor." The band faced some early financial difficulties and skepticism from labels before gaining more attention through touring.
There have been occasional controversies around the band, including plagiarism accusations. They continued performing and releasing albums despite these challenges.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
