Paulista was born in 1922 in Birigui, São Paulo, and grew up with the region's traditional music. They worked together for decades, releasing albums through the 1950s and 1960s.
Their song 'Cantinho de Sertão' became a classic of rural Brazilian music. They recorded over twenty albums, with other tracks like 'Viola Enluarada' and 'Saudade da Terra' also finding an audience. Paulista died in 1990, and Parceirinho lived until 2013.
