Paulo Akenaton grew up in Salvador, Brazil, where he heard samba and bossa nova as a child. In the 1990s, he and his brother Marcello formed the band Irmãos Akenaton, playing Brazilian rhythms with some modern touches.
He went solo in 2003 with the album 'Bahia de Todos os Cantos,' which included 'Amor Só Por Salvador,' a song about his city. Other tracks like 'Ciranda do Tempo' and 'Meu Silêncio' appear among his most played songs.
He performed with a band that included Marcello on bass, Rafa Dias on drums, Otávio Bastos on keys, and Dani Morais on vocals.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
