In 2015, Ruschel was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that affected his voice. He recovered and continued performing. His band has included musicians like Rafael Oliveira on bass and Anderson Feijó on drums.
He has worked with other Brazilian gospel artists such as Aline Barros and Fernandinho. Later albums include 'Morada' in 2016 and 'Águas Profundas' in 2020.
