Paulo Victor was born in Salvador, Bahia, and started performing in local clubs as a teenager. In the mid-1960s, he worked with composer Roberto Carlos on the song "Saudades do Meu Amor," which became a hit in 1967. That track, along with others like "Você Me Completa" and "Águas Passadas," helped establish his presence in Brazilian popular music.
His career included some difficult periods, including a legal dispute over song rights and personal struggles with addiction. He eventually returned to performing, continuing to work with the melancholic style that characterized songs like "Saudades do Meu Amor" and "Cadê Você."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
