Father Fábio Vieira is a priest from Minas Gerais, Brazil who began writing songs for his parish choir while still in seminary. In the early 2000s, he formed Banda Amor Supremo with other musicians who shared his approach to religious music.
Their debut album "Meu Senhor e Meu Deus" came out in 2005, followed by others like "Deus de Promessas" in 2007 and "Alma de Cristo" in 2010. Some of their songs include "Alma de Cristo," "Amigo e Salvador," and "Contra a Maré."
Their style has drawn criticism from some within the Catholic Church who find it too modern or emotive. The band has continued performing and recording despite these objections.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
