Pecado Capital formed in Brazil in the late 1980s as a heavy metal band. Their debut album came out in 1990, simply titled 'Pecado Capital,' which established their sound. They followed it with records like 'Metal Nosso' and 'Santanás' over the next few years.
Jairo Guedz has been the vocalist and frontman since the beginning. Charles Gavin plays guitar, and André Sangiacomo is on bass. Their song 'Abre a Porta' became particularly well-known among fans.
Some of their lyrics dealt with themes that drew criticism from conservative groups at the time. They also had legal issues over plagiarism claims. Other songs in their catalog include 'Até Quando,' 'Longe do Sol,' and 'Tsunami.'
