Pecaos formed in Madrid in 1984 with Ivan Urbistondo on vocals, Ismael Santamaría on guitar, Richard Gil on bass, and Arturo Pérez-Somarriba on drums. Their name translates to "sins" in Spanish, which set the tone for their provocative approach. Their debut album "Paraíso Infernal" came out in 1985 and included the single "Sobre Mim," a song that caught attention with its moody, introspective feel.
That first album established them in Spanish rock circles, but their second release "Déjame Ser" in 1987 didn't connect the same way. The band dealt with internal tensions during this period, and by 1990 they had broken up. Urbistondo later worked on solo material, while Santamaría and Gil formed another group called Hijos del Blues.
