Pecos Camba formed in Galicia, Spain in 2011. Their name references the Pecos River in the American Southwest and the Camba region in northwestern Spain. They released their debut album 'Mar Y Luna' in 2012, with the title track blending traditional Galician melodies with contemporary rhythms.
In 2014, lead vocalist Xabier Díaz left the band. They continued with new vocalist Luz Casal, who joined existing members like Guadi Galego on vocals and Rodrigo Romaní on guitars. Their later albums include 'Viaxe Ao Centro Da Terra' (2015) and 'A Aldea Maldita' (2018).
Some critics have accused them of commercializing their sound, though the band has defended reaching a wider audience. Their lineup has included Roberto Somoza on bass and Xosé Lois Romero on drums. They put out another album called 'Lume' in 2021.
