Pedida Perfeita formed in Rio de Janeiro around the mid-2000s, with Bruno Gouveia as vocalist and songwriter. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2006, and the single "Cuidado Mais" became a hit in Brazilian pop. The band included Luciano Lage on keyboards, Rodrigo Lampreia on bass, and Mário Fabre on drums.
They put out two more albums, 2008's "Novo Horizonte" and 2010's "Nação Imperfeita." The later records didn't match the commercial reach of the first one, but they showed the group trying different approaches. Another track people remember is "Travesseiro de Concreto."
In 2008, Gouveia was arrested for drug possession, which led to the band taking a break for a while. Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for being explicit. They stopped releasing new music after 2010.
